Orientation of '49 door weatherstrip
Hi everyone - this is one of those things I never thought about, till it came time to do it.
I am unsure which way the weatherstrip goes on my doors - I thought I remembered seeing something about this on here but I can't find it, so sorry if this has been covered. Pictures say it all - which is the proper way to install the weatherstrip? Thanks much and please, don't mind the hot rod black fingernail - my hands were comparativley clean when I took these =D Last edited by B_Hix; 04-03-2012 at 08:08 AM. Reason: ..because even though pics are right side up in album the turn sideways here |

Re: Orientation of '49 door weatherstrip
Hey Jimmy, thank you - it does help a lot thanks! It also raises a question...
I don't have that metal strip they are showing (at the bottom of the door), and I don't recall seeing that in LMC's catalog -which is my assembly manual I need to do some more looking I guess.... I hear you on the gluing - I havent started yet but have been studying it and the part between the front door edge and the cowl will be a monster - course my fat fingers won't fit in that gap from the outside and I don't think anyone but ET could get to that part from the inside. Looks like it could get messy without taking the doors off and that ain't happening - hanging doors by myself without a stand IS NOT something I care to repeat! Did you come up with any technique for making that easier? |
