why doesnt my intake fit?

I baught a 86' chevy pickup and it came with a 305 and i got a deal on a crate 350 that only had 500 miles on it! the thing was it was a fuel injected motor when the guy had it. so it came without a intake. i was wondering if the new 35o blocks are a little different than the old 305 blocks? any help/ thanks guys

Re: why doesnt my intake fit?

Fuel injected HEADS are different than non-EFI heads.

Re: why doesnt my intake fit?

Edelbrock makes a carburetor intake for those heads.

For Vortec heads:

Re: why doesnt my intake fit?

Just buy an intake that fits the 87-up block or redrill the holes in a pre-87 intake to make it fit.

Re: why doesnt my intake fit?

if it's like mine it's the 87-95 cast iron heads.the center bolts on each side are cantered.or go in at an angle.edelbrock sells one.i'm running their air gap of that intake.or like captain kaos said they can be slotted to allow for the difference.
