79 k10 rear driveline
Just purchased a rough but very fixable 1979 K10. First thing I noticed was that the rear drive line was gone. I figured, ehh no big deal....... apparently unless you want to have one fabricated, it is a big deal!!! Any help would be great. How do you identify the transfer case? The truck appears to have strap yokes on the transfer and the rear end?

Re: 79 k10 rear driveline
Most likely, it's going to be an NP203 or NP205. You can look up the shapes on Google, but the easiest is by the shift pattern.
NP203 is full-time 4wd, so the shift pattern (from top to bottom) is LoLoc, Lo, N, Hi, HiLoc Np205 is a part-time 4wd, the shift pattern is 4L-N-2H-4H
