fuel pump flow direction backwards?

My new fuel pump has one side marked as IN, but it's the side pointing towards the radiator. does this seem backwards to anyone else? I've got a huge loop in the rubber line under the motor mount now... seems strange!

Nope. That's how my pump is. Inlet is pointing forward and maybe a few degrees outboard. Actually the fuel feed line should run along the inside of the framerail to within a few inches of the pump and a piece of hose should make a horseshoe bend into it.
