I don't know of one specifically, but check the vendor area, one of those links should lead you in the right direction.

Try GMC Pauls or Wes at Classic Heartbeat. Both are board vendors and have great customer service. I just installed dual electric fans on my 69 K10 using parts from both vendors mentioned above.

Yes, CPP sells one as well as most of the 67-72 truck vendors like Car Shop Truck Shop in Orange CA. Very expensive though but has a nice shroud, which is best to have. I have an electric fan in my Camaro with a 396 and it has been a chore to get it to cool well. Had to build a custom sheet metal shroud. The mechanical fans do a better job of cooling a hard to cool engine, IMO.

Beautiful setup on that K10. It sure is nice to see evrything new and shiny like that. Wish I had the time, space and money to do that to my truck.

I have the older model straight blade Flex-A-Lite Black Magic fan and the fan motor crapped out in short order. However, they sent me a new upgraded/redesigned motor for free. Runs great now and cools well. Good customer service.

I have to agree with mclairmo; What's wrong with a good old mechanical fan? The less electrical crap you have to contend with, the better. Plus, as long as everything is in good working order, these trucks typically do not overheat, even with a fairly built engine.

If yours is overheating with a mechanical fan, start checking things until you find out why. I was running about 25° of advance at an idle on a built 350 and could run at 160° all day long.

I'm running the ones from GMC Paul's and love them. In the desert you need all the help at idle, plus better performance. with the a/c my truck never gets hot.

I'll leave the debate alone after this, but I live in the desert... It's called Los Angeles... I've run it in bumper to bumper traffic in 110° weather, as well as running 70 MPH uphill in the same weather, and my temp just sits there. Not sure how much rougher it gets than that. The only thing that gets overheated is ME!

Anyway, as I said, I'll leave it alone. Good luck with the fans.

Another issue nobody has mentioned is the amp draw these two large fans will have. I had to upgrade to a 105 amp alternator to make sure that my big electric fan does not blow out my alternator. Also, I used to have it wired up so that even with the engine off, the fan would stay on until the radiator went below 180 degrees in order to prevent heat soak. The fan would stay on for 5-10 minutes after I turned off the engine and would sometimes drain my battery just enough so it would not start, especially in the heat. I now have it wired to shut off with the ignition, which has solved that problem.

We have had our system on our BB 4X4 Blazer for over 10 years now without any issues what so ever. Our temps don't get over 100 here much, except maybe this year..lol 108 at our shop last weak.. We have sold systems to people in Southern Texas, Arizona, Southern California, and many other places. I know that we have at least 80 of these out on trucks to date and have had no problems. Mudder cut a couple of holes in one of our shrouds to let more air flow through while the truck was running down the road, but that was it. He used his own fans also. Anyway most all new vehicles run electric fans now too, so I wouldn't be afraid to use them anywhere. The added benifites are no loss of power due to the engine always having to turn the fan and quicker rpms. I put them on everything I build. WES

The fans do kick on and off after the engine shuts off and that is because the water will continue to heat up for several minutes after the engine is off. If the battery is large enough for the truck and in good condition you shouldn't have a problem with them waring down the battery. A local customer of ours just installed our system on a 72 BB Cheyenne and didn't have the thermostat set right and I listened to the fans kick off and on at least 5 times while he was here and the truck was not running. We even kicked them on a couple more time while we adjusted the temp setting, and still no problem starting the truck. Anyway if you are having problems with starting your truck soon after you shut it off, it is most likely a heat soaked starter problem. If the truck doesn't want to start several hours after shutting it down, then either your battery is most likely getting old and not holding a charge like it should, or it is too small for the engine. I would agree with Wes, I'm not sure there is any downside. Were I did see a considerable difference is when your at idle and running your a/c. The a/c seems to work alot better at idle with the electric fans. That's one of those things you notice when it's 115 outside and your stuck in traffic for 30 minutes.

What is the amp draw on your fans and will a regular alternator with 60 or 65 amps handle all that?
