Instrument panel lights not working on 71GMC...

What should I do first? The interior dome light works fine, all signals work, headlights work, brights work, but no instrument panel lights, no radio. Is there a fuse that controls both? Where is it? Also, one highbeam is out, is it best to replace both together? Any tips, or is just a few screws and plug it in?

Better to get instructions now, so thanks for the help!
Tom

Yep there's probably a fuse burnt out. If you have the original radio crawl under the dash and find the red power wire and trace it back to the fuse block and find the spot where it plugs in. There should be a fuse right above the plug or to the side of it, I'm not sure.

Check your light switch first. Turn the knob CCwise to see if they are just dimmed down. Then check here:
#1-radio
#2-panel lights
Head just a few screws and a spring.

Mine had the headlights working fine, high and low beams, but the panel had no lights at all. It turned out to be the headlight switch. It's only a $10 part and it took longer to go to the parts store and get it than to install it, so for just $10, i'd give that a try first, assuming the fuse is good.
