'68 C20 Fuel Sending unit removal.
Hello,
I have a '68 C20, and need to remove the sending unit. If I disconnect the wire from the fuse, the gauge shoots past full, and if I reconnect that and ground out the sending unit side of the wire it goes the empty way. So, as I understand, the gauge is fine. Full range. I disconnected the wire and the fule line to sending unit, and now I believe I just need to tap on the four tines counter clockwise until that ring/holder is free, correct? Anything else I should be aware of? Thanks in advance! |

Just the standard safety rules when working around flammable liquids/vapors.
Non-sparking tools are best. Plenty of ventilation. Don't smoke.

Alternate tapping on the tabs when you remove the lock ring. I use a brass punch when I remove them. Lift the sending unit up and tip it sideways to lift it out. You have to get the filter sock out first then work the float out. It should come out without forcing anything. LockDoc

All went well. Thanks.
Now, to adjust the choke on my Qjet. Ugh. |
