Think im going with 22s

My summit wish list has the following.

4 - 22x9.5 5x5/5.50 wheels with 5.80 backspacing.
4- 295/30r22 nitto tires

My 1972 chevy custom deluxe lwb is currently at stock stance with 15 inch rims. 1. Will these wheels bolt right up and the truck be drive able? I can take fender wells out if need be.
2. Will i need to get an alignment after mounting the wheels?

Here is a link to a longbed like mine on 22x9s with 295/30 tires.

Can anyone shed some light ror me please?

Re: Think im going with 22s

Im thinking of same sized tires all around so the can be properly rotated down the line. Im still deciding what wheel style. I read on a 72 its best to have 4.5 bs in front and 5 in the rear. But i believe that was for 20" rims.

Re: Think im going with 22s

What tire sizes would be good for the factory stance? If i do 20x8.5 up front and 22x10 in the back?

I have always loved the H2s on our trucks. What size tire you running? Are those chrome or alloy?

Re: Think im going with 22s

Nice clean truck dave!!! I might go with 20s. In the front 22s in back or all 20s. Your truck is in waay better condition than mine! Ive had my truck close to 10 yrs. i always thought if i had new shiny wheels it would look good the way it is ratty in all lol. It goes with new wheels on any ride big pimpin indeed.

Re: Think im going with 22s

I like the eagle alloys. Summit has the right sizes available. If i were to run 20x10s in the rear with 5.5 backspacing and 295/40r20 tires. Then 20x8.5 in the front with 4.5 bs and 255/40r20 tires how would that look?

Re: Think im going with 22s

This link is helpful. The guy lists more info. So 20/22 combo wheels with 4 5/6 drop
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=581217

All i need is a brand of wheel i like from summit. The tires in the first post ont he link above are. 255/40 and 265/40. The blue truck guy says 40 series in front and 35 in the back.

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Thanks man!
The bed cover is solid fiberglass that the back half opens up. My 42 gallon Surburban tank is in the front half of the bed. It's called a USA truck cover Hwy 21 out of Rockhill SC.
Yea when I did the TPI swap the only company doing them was Street & Performance in Ark. This was their cheap wiring mod but it has worked for me since 1989. After Christmas I have a 2003 6.0 LSx going in it.
The picture I did in paint on my computer.

Re: Think im going with 22s

It would be nice to run the same size wheels so i can rotate my tires, but the 22/20 combo looks so tough!
