60/40 Bench Seat Price
A neighbor of mine has a 91 or 92 Chevy 1500 that he is going to junk. The 60/40 bench seat in it is in great condition (no tears, rips, not faded, etc) He said he would take $150 for it. Is this about the going rate, or does it seem high? I can try and get a pic if it will help. Thanks in advance for your input.

Re: 60/40 Bench Seat Price
I'd steer clear of that seat if I were you! Just forget about it...
Where exactly is it again? I'll be right over! That's not a bad deal if it's in great shape and a good color for you. I've had three trucks that I bought that seat for and got a smokin' deal each time, but they're hard to come by. I think each time I bought one it was $75, but if I found a real nice one now I wouldn't hesitate upping the ante ..

Re: 60/40 Bench Seat Price
I have brought two sets of those seats, one for $100, other for $150, so it seems pretty fair to me.

Re: 60/40 Bench Seat Price
I think I'll get it from him. I got a quote to have my factory bench recovered and the broken springs repaired and they wanted $225. I imagine this seat will be more comfortable than my repaired original. Don't the 60/40 seats have 4 brackets instead of two? Guess I'll have to drill some holes if I get it.

Re: 60/40 Bench Seat Price
The driver's side sits level on the floor and you'll need to drill out 3 of the holes for it if I remember right. You'll need to add an 1 1/2" spacer for the inside mount on the pass side. I bolted a piece of 2X8 to the floor and then bolted the seat mount to it.

Re: 60/40 Bench Seat Price
I've had a late 80's 60/40 in my truck for years. It's sits in the truck well and is not too cushy or firm. worth the $$ in my opinion.

Re: 60/40 Bench Seat Price
I tried that, but didn't have any luck. I figured I could get it for cheap since he's getting rid of the truck anyway, but he said he would need $150. I decided to buy it from him and I'll post pics when I get it home.

Re: 60/40 Bench Seat Price
That sounds about right. I just bought another set for the same price. They fit good.
The low back buckets from that era are also cool seats. |

Re: 60/40 Bench Seat Price
I keep finding them around here for $50.
it's the buckets that are impossible to find.

Re: 60/40 Bench Seat Price
I have some buckets that I got from a '96 Chevy extended cab, and they are pretty comfortable, but don't look right - I'm having a guy re-do by original bench, and try to spoon out the seats a little, but I'm not sure if it's going to work. Does anyone have any ideas on what is comfortable and looks fairly original? I have a '70 3/4 ton).
