Battery Wire Path to Starter
What would be the best path to run the battery wire from the starter on a 350. It has headers on it.
Thanks |

I would run it down to the front of the block and along the length of the block

Let me make sure I understand. Do you mean right next to the block behind the headers under the spark plugs all the way up? Green circle.
Thanks |

Run it down along the block under the motor mounts, attaching it to a couple oil pan bolts with wire clamps.

I agree with the direction offered here running this wiring: come across the pass side of the intake down the front of the block beside the fuel pump, then run it along the oil pan railing with some wire clips alike the original setup was like from GM. Be sure to avoid making too much contact to metal surfaces as this will heat up the wire considerably. One could possibly increase the wire size from the harness at the firewall location before it runs across the top of the engine; I also feel that if a wire is too long it will also lose it's conductivity to operate under hot conditions(summer drives, desert conditions, etc...)

I ran it down under the motor mounts and I used a couple of tie locks until I can get my hands on some of the wire clips tomorrow. Thanks for the help. Ill post a pic once I am done.

Mine is much like the routes described...
Don't know if it was left loose originally, but did manage to short and burn almost completely apart. Be sure to use the looms or something to secure it.
