Re: rust, should I sell the truck?

That is very minor. It's not hard to fix that at all and cover it with some paint to keep it from getting worse. Neither of mine looked no where near that good when I started.

My no rust ebay truck resulted in 2 rockers, two floor pans; two cab corners; a whole floor under the gas tank; and a BUNCH of cowl welding.

Re: rust, should I sell the truck?

An inner fender isnt hard to replace at all. A new one is only 99 dollars and in california you probably could find some real nice used one at a junkyard for 25-50 dollars

Re: rust, should I sell the truck?

That aint rust...you need to travel to central and north eastern US to see rust...
That could probably be fixed with the right amount of skill,or a replacement one for $40 cheapest, and better ones more expensive...
I wish my trucks had that little amount of rust..

Yeah i know what you mean. My 68 is pretty solid but its not a original ohio truck. I had a 87 s-10 though that was bought new in ohio and it was a one owner truck and with the doors shut you really couldnt see any rockers.

Re: rust, should I sell the truck?

you California guys are pretty funny. I thought you said rust... all I see is a little brown metal, take a look at my build thread if you want rust. If you pull that inner fender i'll pay shipping so that you can send it to me. Mine are toast in that same area...

Re: rust, should I sell the truck?

Now if someone put that one on ebay and said no rust, and that was al that it had when I bought it, boy would I consider myself lucky. I do understand however that the PO said NO RUST and you found RUST.

Nothing wrong with that. Replace the inner fender and move on to other parts.

Re: rust, should I sell the truck?

Man that makes me sick! My truck is ready for its 2nd set of rockers and my inner fenders look worse than that. Everyone around here says my truck looks nice! My truck has only been in ohio sense the late 70s and it is in good shape per ohio standards. It only needs a inner fender, core support, inner kick pannels and the rockers replaced and it will be rust free. Oh and my rust is rust holes not surface rust

Re: rust, should I sell the truck?

I didn't know the inner fender went down that far....

Really man, that is minor corrosion, not rust and I'm in Texas!

Buy a quart of POR 15 and coat it, it will never rust again.
