Blazer Circuit board

I am needing to buy a new circuit board for my 72 blazer and currently have no tach but want to add one. My question is, can I buy the circuit board for a tach dash and just not hook it up right now and wait till I can buy a tach? Or will it mess something up not having it hooked up with a tach circuit board?

Re: Blazer Circuit board

Tach ckt board will work fine until you get a tach. The tach actually connects via two wires and a plug. The board has an opening in it to go around the tach and will work in your current cluster just fine.

Re: Blazer Circuit board

It will work just fine. The tach does not hook into the circuit board, it used its own harness. So the only thing the tach board does is give the clearance for the tach.

PS - I just checked my tach dash so I am sure that is correct.
