It can be cut to fit 10-30 series trucks, and it will also be covered by the rubber gasket. Nobody would ever know the difference

I am going to try and help this situation. What you have there is a 40 series and up dash bezel. The extra part in the column opening is there because in the 40 series and up (big trucks) the column did not go up as far as the 10-30 series columns did. I am going to post a few pics and attach a link for you. You have a nice NOS piece but I would find it hard to move it quickly because there are fewer people that will be restoring any big trucks vs. 10-30 series. http://www.purplewave.com/cgi-bin/mn...110309/6864/10 Pic of the bezel you have in a 1970 C-50 dump truck.
