rear end question
I want to go to 5 lug w/ my truck, can I put in a 71-72 rear axle? or do I have to swap the whole rearend in? because I think one axle is a little longer, but I can't remember which....

64-69 are shorter than 70-72 shafts and 73-up are in between, you are screwed unless you make a spacer3/4" thick to go in between the brake backing plate and axle tube flange, wouldnt be all tht hard if you have a drill press and bandsaw or take metal stock to a local machine shop and have them cut out to your specs. one person here did this and it works fine and it saves another 12 bolt in a way
