Suspension Problem 71 C10
Hey guys,
Ive got a 71 C10 2wd Long Box. Its lowered 2.5" front and 4" rear. Drop Coils only, no blocks or drop spindles. I have 18x9" rims that have 285/50 tires all around. I know the front wheels are super wide but I couldn't pass up the deal on the 4 wheels. My problem is when I'm driving down certain roads the truck seems to follow the grooves in the road and is very hard to control. It likes to follow the grooves made by semi's. What can I do to help this problem, besides gettin rid of the nascar wheels. Do I upgrade the sway bar? and would an adjustable track bar help? What do I do?

Re: Suspension Problem 71 C10
I don't think there is much you can do besides different/taller tires. The taller tires will be a bit more forgiving.
Another option would be to dampen the steering. Add a steering stabslizer (shock) to the steering arm, jst like the 4wd truck use.

Re: Suspension Problem 71 C10
I have to agree with Wild83C10. A sway bar isn't going to prevent "tracking". If changing tires is ot of the question, go with a steering stabilizer.
They came stock on several 2wd and 4wd vehicles over the years. If cost is a concern you might be able to find a set up at your local "auto dismantler"...
