Brake Drum Adjustment - New drums

So the old drum had a access port on the Drum itself... Usually see that on the backing plate.

New drum does not have it. Do you guys do something different? cut a hole in the backing plate?

I kind of wondered the same thing. I thought of just putting a hole in the drum like the original, can't understand why there isn't one in the backing plate.

I had the same issue, so I took it to a local machine shop and they put holes in both drums for $20CAN.

I thought about that. Did you notice it out of balance after that though?
