Vintage air problems
Has any one had issues with condensation dripping onto the carpet with a vintage aire system? I just finished charging mine on cod fish and it is sweating from the case itself..... drain is working fine..... any ideas

Re: Vintage air problems
I think your evaporator is freezing up. Below the glove box door there should be a knob, that you can adjust. If memory serves me right turn it counterclockwise in small increments. If you look on your manual it will talk about it. I've had the same problem.

Re: Vintage air problems
It's going to sweat no matter what. WHen I had the Old Air unit in my truck which is pretty much similar I really had no problem sweating here...until I drove to So. Texas! I ended up putting a towel on the floorboard as not to ruin the carpet. My cab is well insulated throughout top to bottom and inside the doors too. All of my windows seal tight. I'm sure it is worse in other trucks. When I got back home I yanked the system and put the Four-Season unit all in. No more issues. Besides having a REAL defroster and the ability to blend the air and the temperature. The evaporator is on the outside. No problems any more

Re: Vintage air problems
My truck has lizard skin ceramic spray insulation, dyna mat extreme, and high density foam on floor and fire walls. All windows are tight and no fire wall leaks, in fact I have to crack the windows to shut the doors. I have checked the evap for freezing and it is not doing it...... I wonder if insulating the evap would correct this.... I dont like the idea of water dripping on my passengers and messing up my interior....

Re: Vintage air problems
Are hose fittings inside wrapped inside with insulation tape? Air flow restricted by having the some vents closed .... with to much fan?
