divorce choke spring help
72 Chevy 350 4bbl Q-jet.
Can someone show me picture of the divorce choke installed. I am replacing mine and the spring inside is not where the old one ends up (the old one is pulled apart some that is why I am replacing) so do I install the choke rod on the front side or the back side of the divorce choke spring?

Re: divorce choke spring help
The last picture is how mine was on but the new spring on the divorce choke is up front and I want to know do I pull the spring down and around so that the rod is coming up on the right side or do I pull it back across the top?. Pulling is back would unwind the spring a little and pulling it down would wind it tighter.
Which do I want the tighter spring or the looser?

Re: divorce choke spring help
I see what your asking for now...I think I would try lose first. It's easy enough to redo if it needs to go the other way(tight).

Re: divorce choke spring help
I turned it around because when it heats up the spring expands. It works because I started it cold and it kept the engine running. It now causes the engine to run at a higher rpm but it seems to be too high.
Is there an adjustment for the choke so the engine does not Run at too high a rpm?
