Question on Brake upgrade

After a successful power steering upgrade we are ready to tackle power brakes upgrade on my sons 71c10. I bought a booster and master cylinder from a parts truck. I did not get the bracket that goes between the booster and firewall. (I do have a WTB thread for the bracket posted on the parts board.)

My question is what is necessary to mount the booster directly on the firewall, eliminating the bracket altogether. I am guessing moving a couple firewall studs and perhaps changing the length of the brake rod.

Advisable? Practical? Safe?

Here is a picture of a similar setup to the one I bought (minus the bracket)

Re: Question on Brake upgrade

I know other member set there booster flush to the firewall but i am not sure how they did it. Just make sure you clear any linkages.

Re: Question on Brake upgrade

What type of drive train? Linkages may hit the booster. I know that one of the custom brackets being sold will not work on the 3OTT.

Re: Question on Brake upgrade

The search is working again. You might try doing one on firewall mounted booster.
