Re: BBC headers?
I just installed a set of hooker headers #2455 they fit nice. If you plan on useing the stock shifter lincage it will be too tight for it to work the collector get in the way. One other not if you use ARP head bolts they are taller than the stock bolts so some light grinding of the flange will be needed to bolt to the head.

Re: BBC headers?
My son Chad (CC69Rat) used Flowtech headers from Summitt Racing (I think). Maybe he will chime in with part numbers.
They fit really nice between the rails, but as Willys47 said with ARP head bolts you have to grind some clearance notches on the flanges. His are ceramic coated, but the coating could be more even and the factory polishing left quite a bit of residue in the tight recesses between the tubes. We used NeverDull polishing cloth and made them look much better. The good thing is that they don't cost as much as some of the other "name" brands out there. He is using a Lokar shifter for his Turbo 400 and it works great. Looks sharp too.

I have the same headers for my C10 BB with Auto trans. The PO resolved the clearance issue with the linkage by replacing the stock mechanism with a Lokar floor shift that bolts directly to the transmission housing. Looks great and is fully functional. Re: BBC headers?
I am going to install a TKO 600 behind my BB. I want to keep the stock clutch linkage if possible to save some $. My engine builder said I need to run a 2" primary I guess I could use 1 7/8" as well but can only find a Hooker set with 2" and the rest seem to be 1 5/8"

Re: BBC headers?
Flowmaster makes 1 3/4", that fit pretty good, you'll have to work on the flanges with a grinder some though. Part # 11530 black, #31530 ceramic

Re: BBC headers?
I have Hedman Elites, #69820. $325 w/ ceramic coating. They are 1.75" primaries, 3" collector. 1.75" or 1.875" primaries are plenty big enough, at least to 600hp, give or take, and will (probably) give you a little more torque than a 2" primary, especially below the 600hp range.
I will say that the hedman's are a TIGHT squeeze with '72 BBC mounts. These are all mockup pics w/o the cab on, but it will give you an idea of what you'll be working with if you do a BBC/TKO swap.

Re: BBC headers?
I heard you can't break in a motor with ceramic coated headers or most mfg's void the warrenty. Those are some sweet pics. I was going to get my trans right from hurst they say they have a TKO that will swap in perfect with no tunnel mods. I have a set of headman's on my 75 BB that fit real nice. I kind of think that 2" primaries are huge also. HP #'s are just a guess right now its 454 .040 over forged crank truck rods polished and peened KB pistons 10.5:1 comp big mutha thumper cam roller rockers milodon street flo valves 2.30intake 1.94 exhaust procomp 320cc square port heads matched intake edelbrock performer RPM air gap BG mighty demon 850 all was done by Mike Strasburg's brother Lindsey at Strasburg machine in Lindon UT. I figure if they can make their TF dragster go 300 mph I should listen to them.
