73-87 1 Ton Brakes on 67-72 C-30??

I have a '67 C-30 that I making into a Dually pickup. I have seen several buildups that other people have done claiming to have 73-87 Disc brakes on a '67-72. Can anyone tell me exactly what is needed to do the changeover?? Is it as simple as just changing the spindles and ball joints, or is it more involved than that?? I already have an '81 C-30 Dually parts truck with good spindles, rotors, calipers, etc. I am putting a 6.2 diesel in the truck, so I will use the master cylinder, hydraboost and proportioning valve off the Suburban that I am getting the engine from. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

i am not sure bout 1 ton but i know that half ton is that simple(spindles ball joints, tierods, master, and prop valve) i wouldnt see why one ton parts wouldnt interchange as well

You'll be quicker and easier to simply swap the complete front suspension and crossmember as a unit off of your parts truck.

The crossmember unbolts off of the frame and is self contained with the springs and all. You just roll it out of the donor and under the old truck.

I did this to my dually a couple of weeks ago. I recomend you have a helper though. That entire front end is quite heavy and is a bear to wrestle around.

Wow! That would be nice. Will it be a direct bolt on between my '67 and the '81?? Do you have any pics that you could send me?? I have been reading back a few months and I saw where you were looking for a 133" 1 ton, and then I read where you found one. I also saw a pic of you pulling the cab off with that wheel loader. I may go this route, but I'm not going to be able to get around pulling the A arms anyway because I will most likely have to change front springs. Both the '67 and '81 were inline 6 trucks, and the diesel weighs almost as much as a big block. Thanks for info.

Almost a direct bolt in.2 holes need egged a little and 2 holes drilled.

TX. I'VE GOT A COMPLETE FRONT END OUT OF A 85 C-30 THAT I'M GOING TO PUT IN MY 69 C-30 TOWTRUCK. I WILL DO A MOTOR SWAP & A TRANNY SWAP AT THE SAME TIME. You'll remember I showed pictures on a thread when I swapped the front ends.

The title was "Big parts swap today..or why I'm hurting right now". I definitely overloaded my butt wrestling those things around. It's hard to tweak the front end this way and that to get the holes to line up. It keeps wanting to roll over upside down.
