LED Tail lights

Has anyone used the led replacement 1157 bulbs as tail lights? I was kicking around building a set of custom led tail lights for my 86, but while searching for loose leds I noticed the prices for 1157 bulbs and wonder if custom lights are worth the effort.

Any input pro or con?

Re: LED Tail lights

no need to build custom lights, just buy them, 129 bucks a pair

Re: LED Tail lights

i like the idea of i but it ould have been nice if the light set did all the bulbs for the tail light. Because that one doesnt id say its not worth it.

Unless some one makes led bulbs that go into the stock hole.

something like this

Re: LED Tail lights

i have the 1157 led type, the one in the in the post looks better than mine, mine just have 5 or 6 leds on the top surface. they arent very bright tho, got pulled over few months ago because of a burnt out headlight and the cop told me she stopped me for the headlight and my taillight lenses were dirty. lenses were clean it was just the dim leds. like the taillight led set up but dont look cheap

Re: LED Tail lights

Has anyone tried SpiderLites?

I am really tempted, but I am still sitting on the fence.
