Re: backspacing ?
Wow, what size tire were you running? I've got 20x8.5 w/ 5.25bs up front wrapped in 255/40/20 on a 5.5" front drop and only rub the drivers side inner fender on ocassion. It's avoidable if I pay attention and drive responsibly.

Re: backspacing ?
Is the truck a step or fleet? This greatly affects fitment and backspacing. I have a 68 Step bed with 4.5/6 drop and my wheels are 20x8.5 w/5.25 bs and 22x9 w/5.50 bs. (I have the later (70 1/2-72) long rear axle.) With the stock width rear axle I was going to use a 5.0 bs.

Re: backspacing ?
You need to figure out what axle you have for sure. If it's the narrower axle I'd say 4.75-5"

Re: backspacing ?
I have 20x8.5 with 5.5" BS all around. I had to put a 1.5" spacer on the back but the front was fine. Tires are all 265/50/20's. most of the new wheels were 5.25BS or more that I found.
