Does this look right to you?
Full disclosure, bit of a newb here with a 67' Chevy CST 327
The bearings were shot on my water pump so I replaced it with the help of a friend. I hooked everything up exactly the way it was but I'm now comparing it to other pictures and it doesn't look the same. It seems to run fine with no coolant leaks but I want to make sure it's hooked up correctly. The right angle adapter coming out the top of the water pump is what I'm questioning. Can someone please explain a little theory of operation here and why I feel like I have too many hoses coming out this thing. Which hose goes where? I'm NEW! http://imgur.com/FkbTlaN http://imgur.com/djbiGe9 http://imgur.com/zgxH88O Thanks guys Deano |

Re: Does this look right to you?
I have never seen that extra hose on top of the water pump on my old trucks. Although there is a plug on top of them, I will be interested to here comments on what is for.

Re: Does this look right to you?
The new water pump came with a plug already in it, just as I've seen lots yours plugged up in these forums.
I can always put a plug back in it, but I'm confused. The guys at the parts store never seen the right angle, nor could I find a replacement, which makes me question if it's supposed to be on there in the first place. How is everything supposed to hook up? How does the pump flow and in what direction? The directions in the box were kind of vague. |

What makes you say that?
Another weird thing I noticed was no fan clutch. |

Re: Does this look right to you?
more common on big blocks. helps to allow coolant to circulate through the engine before the thermostat opens. the engine will heat quicker and help prevent hot spots (air bubbles).

Re: Does this look right to you?
That bypass hose came on 327 engines. I don't know if it could be a C-20 item, I had one like that.

Re: Does this look right to you?
350's to my knowledge never had a intake manifold with an oil filler... 283's and 302's had them, maybe others?
