Oil Pan Removal
Today, i wanted to take off the oil pan (engine in the truck) in order to check for anything bad looking as you could say. I recently bought it, '66 C10, and its got an I6. I took aff all the necessary screws and such but cannot remove the oil pan due to the fact that the flywheel hangs too low and the cross member below the engine inhibits any more downward angle. I also took off the garud for the flywheel and clutch but the flywheel is still in the way. Is there any way to get the pan off without removale of the engine from the truck?

Re: Oil Pan Removal
You need to remove the engine mount bolts and lift the engine up a bit and it should come out. You dont' have to remove the engine just the mount bolts and lift the engine up a bit. If that dosen't work then maybe you will have to lift the engine out a bit more..

Re: Oil Pan Removal
Ok Thanks. I was hoping I wouldn't have to totally remove it. Thanks.
