Well I installed the electric fan I got last year. It was the mopar unit a lot of us bought. I installed it in the bigblock shroud, If I did it again I would do some things different but it turned out ok and working great , Its 90 and humid here in Delaware . Sitting in trafic it dosen't go over 185. Thats better then the flex fan that was on it. I also used the painless fan relay kit, on at 185 off at 170 works great.

Very nice. I just installed a 90-95 Taurus fan on my '99 S-10 and it works awesome. On an engine as "weak" as the 2.2L I REALLY noticed a difference in the power I "gave back" to the engine by removing the heavy clutch fan. I'm strongly considering doing this to my Silverado and C-10 as well.

Oh, I also got a 1.5-2 mpg improvement in my "city driving." With "hypermilling" (coasting to stops and crap) and the new e-fan I'm getting 25mpg city with my S-10

I was getting 20-21 city with the truck. With hypermilling I got it up to 23 consistently. With the new fan my last tank was 24.8mpg for the same driving (with hypermilling)

What CFM does your fan pull?

You know, I don't know .71rat may know . I think its a replacement for some V8 jeep ,Its been so long I can't remember.. The thread was [another cheap electric fan] the info maybe in there..

Looks like a 99 to 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Dorman Part No. 620-010

Can you tell me how thick the fan part is? I'm trying to find a better option for my 52 Chevy car and I only have 2.5" clearance between the water pump pulley and the radiator core.

If you're talking about the fan pictured above (from http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...electric+mopar), then measuring the thickness at the outside diameter is 1.75". The center of the fan (about 6" diameter), is 2.75".

Any body have a direct link to order this fan? All I have been able to find have been the stock replacement at $100-$150, not the $50 most have bought them for.

My local dealers suck and always overcharge so I would just rather order online.

Okay, I got it ordered. I guess you have to registar before you can even lookup any part numbers. I was trying to do that before without registaring.

you should relocate the switch to the rad. have a rad shop put a threaded hole in it about 1/2 way up on the side in a tank.
your set up may (pbviously) work... but it isn't nearly as efficient as it can be.

It's kinda like putting the light switch at the far end of the hallway. By the time you get there, ther is no reason in turning it on.
