What all do you plan to do to your truck this summer?

Now that winter is nearing its end, I have been planning what all to do this summer ("summer" means spring, summer, and fall to me). I have TONS of things to do to my business, my house, my garage, and my truck.

For me, on the truck:

get the fuel system replaced (make new fuel line) and install it all
new weather strip
fix the stuck parking brakes
powder coat/paint the new radiator core support
replace core support and front inner fenders
finish the cab to frame bushings
put the new radiator in
make the new radiator overflow tank
put the rebuilt carb back on
get the thing licensed

What do you plan to do to your truck?

Drive it! And hopefully put an EFI system on my 406. But it runs good for now so just use it like a truck.

Re: What all do you plan to do to your truck this summer?

I completed nearly all of the interior restoration I started on in December. I'm now working on replacing the wheels and tires - hope to replace the dash bezel and brakes at the minimum..

Re: What all do you plan to do to your truck this summer?

New front window
c-notch
drop springs/shocks front and rear
full tilt forward front clip
shaved doors and bed
suicide doors
floor and all other rust replaced
seats mounted
center counsel made
upgraded rear end - see "rear end decisions" in racing section for more details

upgrade motor close to 1,000 foot pounds of torque (goal for this summer)
custom cowl hood

I think that's all I got planned for this summer. If I add to the list, I won't be able to do much racing.

Also I plan on getting a sponsor and making a build thread on here.

Re: What all do you plan to do to your truck this summer?

Every spring I overflow with all that I'm going to get done this year. By August reality sets in and I'm knocking things off the list and trimming down to what I feel I can get done before stopping. So,what I plan to do this year is everything I didn't do last year. If ll goes as planned I'll get it done next year or the one after...maybe

Re: What all do you plan to do to your truck this summer?

Its funny you ask because last night at work about 3:30 AM I made my

Pinky to do List for 2014

Install the new cargo lite kit I bought 3 years ago but have been procrastinating because I was scared to cut the roof, but I'm gonna do it this year.

Install the new completely refurbished gauge cluster that has tach, speedwarning and vacumn gauge as well as the other standard gauges.

Get a new windshield installed, with new gasket & trim.

Install the A/C Delco headlite on warning buzzer I have.

Install my new stereo with Mahanians polished stainless cover plate.

Install dor window visors

Install VH Coachworks new ground strap kit.

Completely clay and wax the truck.

Take the truck and display it at 4 or 5 car shows.

Re: What all do you plan to do to your truck this summer?

. . . .

HOPEFULLY . . .

1) Get the original cloth seat cover installed
2) Put on the original wheel covers I just bought . . so they'll STAY on
3) Put another coat of wax on the wood bed
4) Clean and paint some things in the engine compartment
5) Wax all the white paint that hasn't been waxed yet
6) Have some "8 350" valve cover stickers made
7) Get the temperature gauge working
8) Get the vacuum gauge working correctly
9) Install the auxiliary battery and put toppers on both
10) Install the ground strap kit
11) Install the "main aux fuel tank" switch and decal
12) Install the choke pull knob
13) Get the power brake booster working properly
14) Clean the underside
15) Get a key made for the toolbox door

Then take it to as many shows and cruises as I can !!!

. . . .

Re: What all do you plan to do to your truck this summer?

Well the cancer thing kind of got in the way, so my winter plans were pushed to this month and next. The parts have been here since November, so now that I'm getting closer to 100% I'm going to start with replacing all the heater hoses, replacing the front springs (the front of the truck leans to the right a little), put Bilstein shocks all the way around, and fix a couple minor oil leaks.
After that I'll be on my normal April to October schedule of enjoying the crap out of it and going to as many cruise nights and car shows as I can.

Re: What all do you plan to do to your truck this summer?

I have a complete, rust-free bed, two rust-free doors, a passenger fender, new inner fenders, a new stereo and kick panel speakers and a bat-wing air cleaner sitting in my garage.

Now that the weather appears to finally be improving -- it was 70 in Kansas City today -- my plan is to get these parts on the truck soon and get it painted sometime this summer.

Just finished the 4.5/6.5" drop.

This summer:
Hounds tooth seat cover.
I'm investigating the cost for someone to do a 5.3L swap + single turbo.
Deal with the tarnished aluminum grill surround.
Make memories drive drive driving it a lot.
