Erl, I am not quite sure what you are talking about, so I took some pics of my e-brake cable. It never goes thru the frame maybe it is a 68-69 difference? Anyway, I took these pics for ya:

here is where the cable coating stops and the bare cable goes out to the middle of the truck to split off to both rear wheels:

I believe that it is a 2wd thing as my k-5 does not go threw the frame but my c/10 does.. Here is a pic of the c/10 e-brake cable.
