large diameter sway bar
does the diameter of a sway bar effect the ride quality?

Yes, you'll get tossed around a bit more from side to side. It's exaggerated more the higher the truck is, so on a very low truck it's not bad. Stiff sway bars front and rear with a higher ride height is not fun.

The spring rate the wheel sees when you hit a bump is the rate of the spring along with the rate of the bar. For the best ride you want to run a sway bar that will control the the roll you see for the type of driving you do most. If it is a daily driver and ride is important a 1" bar works good.
