Re: lmc trim
I don't have any pics, but I did order a piece just to see what it looked like. I can tell you that it will not match your factory trim. If you want OEM trim there arent many options unless you chase down NOS sets. If your not too picky, it would be better than what you have.

Re: lmc trim
I've searched far and wide for OEM style door trim. I found some for my 77 Cheyenne, do you have a pic of what you're looking for?

Re: lmc trim
I suggest you order a piece and see for yourself. It isn't exactly like OEM in sheen and texture, but at least it all would match. I have a lot of NOS pieces and some of it doesn't match the others.

Re: lmc trim
I put the aftermarket trim on my truck.... the only piece that didnt work was the lower rear bedside pieces. I had to reuse my old pieces there. Also you will almost HAVE TO reuse as many of the OE clips off your old trim as you can. The new clips with the new trim either dont match each other or are just plain wrong. The stick on parts are fine, everything else it pot luck. I think they fit about as well as the stock stuff I had before and they look fine as long as you don't mix them with OE stuff. the back lower piece I had to reuse doesn't stick out though, maybe its because it's on the bottom at a good angle or something. Mainly they just look older than the new stuff but you have to look really close. I wouldn't have tried to mix and match the upper pieces though.
The trims ok, the clips are terrible! to me it would be worth it to go to a junkyard and rob the clips off of some junkyard crap trim. Last edited by 78 Chevyrado; 09-23-2010 at 04:55 PM. |

Re: lmc trim
they arent exactly like the OE trim, some were longer or shorter than the OE stuff, but then again the oe stuff wasn't perfect either. Actually some of the aftermarket stuff fit better than the OE stuff as they were a bit "too long". I'm happy with them overall.

Re: lmc trim
A lot of different stores sell trim kits... they are the same brand stuff. so buy the cheapest one you can find. I bought a kit from one store, it was missing some pieces (they arent actual kits but pieced together by the store) and bought the missing stuff from two other stores because i didnt want to wait and they all were the same brand and matched up perfectly.

Re: lmc trim
I forgot I had this.
Reply 187 on this page has my review of the aftermarket trim from when I put it on my truck. http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/sm...topic=9090.180 tip - reply 148 http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/sm...topic=9090.135 there is probably more trim stuff spread out in that thread, I don't remember exactly. |
