68 4x4 fit on a U-Haul Transport?
Maximum tire width on transport is 79 1/4"
Also says body width must not exceed 75" at the doors - might be a problem unless truck is high enough to clear the transport fenders. Anyone ever haul on one of these? |

The last u haul trailer I rented had hinged finders that gave you extra room on each side when loading, you might check to see if they still have this feature. The last rig I hauled on one was a scout II and it cleared alright.

I sold a 69 and it fit on this Uhaul trailer, barely, but it did. It went from Topeka Kansas to the middle of Texas.

Whew - looks like it was tight. I've got about 150 miles to go with this.
U-haul website says it will fit - they have some fields to type in vehicle type and it appeared OK, with the caveat being the body width at trailer fenders and overall tire width. |

it should fit if the tires are not to wide. TIP; do not tell U haul that you are using their trailer to transpot a full size truck. I always am towing a S10 without an engine if they ask.

You colud always put narrow tires on it and put block ramp down to clear the fenders, as long as the truck sits high enough to clear once back over the fenders. Just a thought.

That truck also had 35x12.50's on it and was loaded with half another truck in the bed of it. You should be fine if you get a trailer like this from them.

Re: 68 4x4 fit on a U-Haul Transport?
a bit late but figured this would be helpful info for anyone researching it anyway. Rented an u-haul trailer to tow a '72 C20 4x4 long bed 170 miles home. It barely fit, and while it was fine towing it on straight parts of the interstate, when I got to a winding highway it got kinda hairy...quite a bit of weight with a high center of gravity behind you makes for a butt clenching adventure...
sorry, bad nighttime pic tires (265/75/16's) rubbed the trailer's fenders when driving it on, yes this is after the straps were taken off |

I'm glad to see you got the truck home. That is exactly how my 69 went on the trailer. We folded down one ramp to get it on the trailer, then put it back up.
