Heater controll pannel help.

Can I use a a/c controll pannel for my regular heater controls??? I am pretty sure it would not work 100% correctly or evryone would be doing it.. I am half way through with getting my a/c parts together and the palin jain heater controlls died yesterday on me and I was just wondering if I could use the a/c controlls instad of having to but a new pannel to use for a few months.. Any help would be great..

I have never done it but I think that you can make it work. The defroster cable hooks up the same, in fact the defroster/floor housing is the same on both units. The cable that goes outside on the AC control can be used for the temperature control and the other cable can be used for the heat control. Wiring can be a problem depending on which harness that you have in your truck. If you have the heater harness, you may have to make a couple of jumper connections to connect the ac blower switch to the harness.
