Big ol' fancy steering wheels
Has anyone put an older steering wheel on their truck, like the ones that had the big chrome horn ring and chrome center cap? Would like to see pics if you got them, and describe any mods if necessary.

Re: Big ol' fancy steering wheels
I have a '64 Chevelle steering wheel for my '67 GMC project. It's red with a 1/2 circle horn ring. The GM car steering wheels bot right on. I'm casually looking for a Pontiac steering wheel now, since all the other car parts on the truck are turning out to be Pontiac...and Pontiac/GMC,the perfect match!

Re: Big ol' fancy steering wheels
Found this one! Off of a 1955 Olds98. It's super solid and will clean up great. The rest of the dash in that car was perfect (Now missing the steering wheel of course). Shame to break it up.

Re: Big ol' fancy steering wheels
WOW! That's a cool one. I always liked the Olds stuff with the globe on it. I have a saddle rimmed Olds 4 spoke sport wheel for my '72 K2500 when I switch interiors. Here's what I have for my '67 GMC:

Re: Big ol' fancy steering wheels
I believe member "Superflysteiny" used a wheel from a '57 Chevy for his black truck.

Re: Big ol' fancy steering wheels
OK, here you. I hope he doesn't mind me posting a pic. It's an amazing build.
It doesn't have a big chrome cap, but its still fancy imo. Last edited by LEX; 02-13-2012 at 09:22 AM. |
