Found a great price on fuel pumps for Vortec swaps

http://store.getgmparts.com/index.html

Their price for the ACDelco EP381 fuel pump is only $69. Rock Auto is $82. Autozone is $90.

Also, heated 4-wire O2 sensors (AFS75) for TBI swaps are $42 here. $53 at Autozone, $65 at Rock Auto.

Just FYI......

Re: Found a great price on fuel pumps for Vortec swaps

What ive had good luck with is searching online and getting the lowest price then walking into Advanced Auto Parts and asking them to beat that price and they do. They get it overnight for me, including on july 4
they were by far cheaper for the gas tank and straps... just make sure you bring the print out from the internet as the store computer is a dollar or two more

That's good to know Bob! We had an Advance Auto open up here within the past few months. I will try that when the time comes.

Oh, and I got your card yesterday! Thanks man, you didn't have to do that, but I appreciate it!

What about these? Not sure if they are the correct pressure, but seems as though they would work. http://treperformance.com/c-66150-ch...pumps-tre.html

I have one of there pumps in my '86 Mustang and it works beautifully.

Just curious.

Not enough pressure. All three of those state 40 psi, and the Gen III's need up to 60 psi.

My notes are at work, but I believe it flows 50-60 GPH @ 80-90 psi.

wow, for some reason I would've thought less. Is this the pump you are going to use? Are you going to use it in a stock '87 fuel sender? I have to ask because this would be cheaper than my previous planned setup.

Re: Found a great price on fuel pumps for Vortec swaps

Yes, and yes. S&P uses this same pump when they do Gen III swaps. It is a stock GM high output pump, and most any parts store will stock them.

I'll be using two of these along with a high psi switching valve, and a 99 Vette fuel filter/regulator. I'll have use of both tanks and keep a factory look underneath.

Re: Found a great price on fuel pumps for Vortec swaps

Sounds like a real good plan. I think ill be able to locate a GM pump, I work at a local Chevrolet dealer I remember seeing this pump as a direct replacement for 96-99 OBS GMT400 trucks with the 305 or 350 so that's why I was unsure of it's psi output. It looks like ill be going your route but with a 87 blazer 25 or 31 gallon rear mounted tank. Thanks for the info man

Re: Found a great price on fuel pumps for Vortec swaps

Cool find, Bookmarked !

So to use both tanks would you need two pumps ??

Im also worried about running a tank out of fuel before switching, that would burn the pump up if you did it couple times I would assume ? Right ??

I guess just dont run it out of fuel ahaha

Yep, one in each tank.

It would; no fuel, no way to cool the pump. And that's what gauges are for!
