Chrome pic
Snapped this with my phone today, but the amount of chrome and detail struck me, so I'm posting it. Not bad when you consider how utilitarian these trucks were that they clean up nicely!
As you can guess I'm partial to the GMCs with all the extra chrome, right up until it was time to pay the chrome bill! Don't know how much of this stuff is reproduced but these are all factory original parts (except the headlights and the engine emblem).

Re: Chrome pic
That is freaking HOT! My buddy down here in Oregon has a 4wd 3/4 set up with a gear vendors overdrive and has his motor dialed. It purrs like a kitten.

Re: Chrome pic
Beautiful! Great pic too! I am partial to the four-eyes as well. Love the all metal grill and the chrome. Even if mine was basically a base model.

Re: Chrome pic
Oh, and I swapped to clear park lenses with amber bulbs rather then the other way around just because I thought the chrome looked better than it did with the amber. Easy swap though.

Re: Chrome pic
Agree on clear lens, that looks great. Did you get the lens by itself or lens housing combo? Where did you get it please.

Re: Chrome pic
I got mine from LMC I believe and (it's been four years) if I recall, I just got the lens and swapped it on the housing. It's not actually changeable, from what I recall, but you can make it work. Like it's a plastic rivet from the factory holds it together and you have to replace it with a machine screw and nut, or something along those lines. Pretty simple anyway.

Re: Chrome pic
You don't need to convince me on GM's flagship truck line. BE-A-Utiful! The added engine badge even looks good, as if original.

By our 6th time we were getting pretty good on our own, and were close, but they got it perfect. I might get it redone when I assemble a set of all original stainless, I have a repro piece in there and the gasket is a little chewed up from my own install attempts, but that's behind a visor, so for now... good enough! Love the pic of the dark blue truck in the leaves!

Its hard too get that gasket perfect. Ive seen a few awesome trucks at shows with wrinkled/torn gaskets on the inside...even my kids 67. i have precision brand waiting for mine since everyone said they worked the best. So ya gonna put the oe wheels on it. Did ya figure a way too prevent those priceless caps from dissapearing? besides a full time armed guard on duty too watch over them.

Re: Chrome pic
Thanks for the kind words! I'm now quite partial to the color and am glad it's what I wound up starting with, though I'm sure you'd get attached to any color over time.
