how to disassemble bed
I need to restore my step side bed. I think it would be easier to do this with the bed sides disassembled from the bed.
How do you remove the sides....is it just bolded together? |

Re: how to disassemble bed
95% yes... just bolts.
However, at the very back of the bed, the bedsides are tack welded to the rear cross sill, you have to carefully cut that weld. You do not need to re-weld it back, there are bolts in the area as well, when I reassembled mine I just used the bolts.

Re: how to disassemble bed
What about the phillips screws at the front... I've gotten 2 out but the other 2 are pretty stuck

Re: how to disassemble bed
On mine, I had to weld a nut onto the phillips head, and then used a socket to remove them

Re: how to disassemble bed
I had to drill mine out . It didn't take that much time with a good drill bit.
