Re: 72 Gmc

Very nice! I like what you did with the dealer optioned saddle tank fuel doors. Did you do that on both sides, and did you leave the tanks in?

Re: 72 Gmc

Thanks, yes both sides are done. I used S10 fuel doors, tanks still need to be reinstalled. May have to trim the inside of the panels though.

Re: 72 Gmc

justplainjoe, Is that the stock color...it looks so bright! What paint did you use? Is that bc/cc? Sorry for all the questions but I am looking into the stock paint for mine and trying to decide what is going to look best for stock restoration.

Nice job. Love the color. Amazing what a paint job and a set of wheels will do for one. Congrats.

Re: 72 Gmc

Thanks for the comments, my father in law gave me the truck. Its been sitting up in WA. I went up 2.5 years ago and drove it to AZ. It sat in front of my house here and I decided I had to get it done. I hit it hard the last 3 months and finally made it to the paint booth. The fuel doors were last minute, my better half said might as well do it now before paint. That added 8 more hours. I just had to put on new inner and outter rockers. The wheels and tires are from Discount tires, I just know they are MB Motoring. The rest of the truck is pretty solid. Its got 92000 and I'm second owner. My father in law hauled alot of wood with it.

Re: 72 Gmc

Color was code 509 med olive but its got alot of yellow in it so it doesn't match the code. It looked too green in the booth but since it was a complete I really didn't get too bent out of shape. Its Val spar bc/cc

Re: 72 Gmc

Wow, what a difference in the before and after shots! I have always thought bright metallic green in the medium to lighter shades suited these trucks well, and your pics are proof!
