Drop spindles & 3" front drop springs

Not sure of brand on these parts, just came off a driving 72 suburban, it sat too low.
5 lug factory rotors & calipers & a few of the wheel studs need replaced.
For whatever reason the lower ball joints on these were the large 3/4 ton & had 3/4 ton lower a arms on it also. $125 for just the spindles + shipping
3" springs are sold
Will include the 3/4 ton a arms also if you needed them.
Thanks,
Tom

Any idea how much drop the spindles give, and if they will still work with 1/2 ton ball joints? How about a shipping cost to Leander TX 78641?

I will take the spindles if they will work with the stock 1/2 ton ball joints and lower control arms.

Re: Drop spindles & 3" front drop springs

I don't know if they will work on your 1/2 ton or not, they were on a 1/2 ton 72 burb & have factory 5 lug rotors & calipers attached, but the lower control arms were 3/4 ton.
Most drop spindles are 2-2 1/2" & I would imagine that's what these are.
If you know the measurements of what you need are please post them & I will check.
I'll have to take this apart to get a guess of what the shipping will be & With any luck I'll find a part #
Thanks,
Tom

The hole for the lower balljoint is bigger in the 3/4-ton version.
IF these spindles were on a 3/4-ton balljoint,... they won't work on a 1/2-ton balljoint.
Is the upper balljoint also a 3/4-ton balljoint?
Is the outer tie rod different also?

Maybe the burb was converted to 1/2-ton.

Either the burb has conversion spindles like ECE sells, (even though I don't see their name on these),...
or someone has taken a reamer to the lower hole to allow the use of a larger 3/4 ton ball joint, on a 1/2 ton truck.

Re: Drop spindles & 3" front drop springs

It is weird that it has 1/2 ton upper joint but 3/4 ton lowers... Or are the uppers the same? I haven't checked that yet. I have found that 3/4 ton lowers are bigger (go figure!)

Re: Drop spindles & 3" front drop springs

72 3/4-ton upper balljoints are different.
But I have no idea what these spindles are.
Does it for sure, have a 1/2 ton upper balljoint hole?

Re: Drop spindles & 3" front drop springs

The spindles are 88-98 spindles. They have the same size upper ball joint but you have to swap to the 3/4T lower arm to get the same ball joint the 88 and up 1/2T used. Hope this helps clear things up for you and a bump for you as well!
