rear piller bolt size ???
all,
i am hoping that this is a easy question. i am needing to know what the bolt size is & threads for the seatbelt bolt hole that is located in the rear piller behind the seat??? (for use with a 3 point seat belt.) i think it typically has a plastice cover over it. it is the hole in the upper part of the piller... thanks!!!! rodstored-72 |

Re: rear piller bolt size ???
The weld nut in the upper part of the pillar is threaded 7/16" x 20, NF thread.

Re: rear piller bolt size ???
I installed shoulder belts in my son's 71 C-10 and needed the bolts for the upper mount. I had some left over seat belt bolts with the 7/16 fine thread which fit the holes perfectly.

Re: rear piller bolt size ???
I used a set out of a 93 S-10. I really don't know if the belts you are looking at will work. Maybe someone else will post the answer.

Re: rear piller bolt size ???
jim,
thanks! i am going to try to get them to work. the length is there i just neeed to get the base for each side to fit better on the floor. they are a little chewed up though. what made you use the s-10 belts?i would think that they would be too short? also how did the belts fit on the base in relation to te cab floor?? thanks again!! rodstored-72 |

Re: rear piller bolt size ???
Wow...you just got around to this 5 years later?
7/16 20 (fine thread) is the correct size bolt for the pillar in all 67-72 trucks.

Re: rear piller bolt size ???
7/16-20NF = national fine which is 20 threads per inch on a 7/16 bolt.. You will be better off if you can find 7/16-20 seat belt bolts because they are a shoulder bolt. Those holes would be hard to repair if you "wrench" the wrong bolts in.
