Thumbs up Shopping 4 many parts

Could anyone recommend a good source on the net for assorted parts. I'm just beginning to restore a '67 GMC 1/2 ton from the ground up(I need just about everything). By the look of the trucks on this sight it looks you folks know where to get anything.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Shopping 4 many parts

Welcome to the board - A lot of vendors support this site carry repro parts for our vehicles. I highly recommend going through them first.

Re: Shopping 4 many parts

Hit the VENDORS link on the main page. Get yourself a catalog from LMCtruck.com for schematic purposes, they have good diagrams of how stuff fits together. Board vendors I can personally recommend are Tim Christian and GMCPaul. Good Luck with the truck!

When contacting a bb vendor, mention this site. Some have special offers.

Bow tie Ong, I'm glad you had luck with Tim Christian...., I spent alot of money with him and when I had a problem with a expensive part fitting he turned his back on me. I definetly would not recommend him!!!!!!!!!

Re: Shopping 4 many parts

I've always had luck w/ Chevy Duty. They've always been quick & accurate.

But, anything on backorder on your invoice, call & check on, b/c it'll probably be a few weeks.

Re: Shopping 4 many parts

jcoleman it might help if you elaborate on the issues you had with Tim. He is just like anyone else and can't satisfy 100% of his customers. His track record on here is excellent as a forum member and vendor.

You can see why some people might take it personal when you give a bad report on a vendor with out explaining what happened.

Re: Shopping 4 many parts

jcoleman please explain the entire situation before badmouthing a site supporting vendor. I am not saying you did not have an issue, but slamming any vendor without explaining the situation is uncalled for. Please feel free to write up a post on the review board, where Tim could tell his side as well and it would be fair.
I myself have known Tim for a few years and have never known him to turn his back on a customer.
Im sorry that you had issues, but please use the proper resources to handle them.

Post count has nothing to do with a posters worth, and I would appreciate it if all parties involved would step back and think before typing. Pissing matches are not allowed and I would hate to suspend accounts over a squabble..

posts deleted to clean up the thread..
