Craigslist wrecked my truck!!
I found a good deal on inner and outer fenders on CL. One thing led to another...now my truck is in pieces scattered around the garage.
That and I just wanted to post a picture. |

Re: Craigslist wrecked my truck!!
it happens, just make sure to keep working on it or you will forget how it all went together then you have a baggie of 'extra' bolts.

Re: Craigslist wrecked my truck!!
I needed a new mount for my wiper motor....I don't even have a pic of how far it has been stripped. I gave up on the project, until last week when my body/paint guy asked how much I would take for it and I reminded him of how much I had already paid him. I was thinkin' I might get some money back and also have some parts to sell, but he said he would do everything I had wanted done and not have to ante-up any more bux. I guess he became inspired....after almost 3 years and lymphoma. He's a good body/metal person. I'm too patient.

Re: Craigslist wrecked my truck!!
The "While I'm at it's strike again". My wife is going to ban me from Craigslist for life If I drag something home next weekend. A month ago I picked up a 6 inch belt sander with 9 inch disk on it. Two weekends ago I got a whole cutting torch outfit with full bottles and Sunday I picked up an S-10 T-5 five speed for one of my "not right for this board" projects.
Add to that the Cad 500 and turbo 400 for the 71 that I bought a couple of weeks ago and the Flathead Ford V8 that will probably be hooked to the T-5 in a Model A and I think my spending money is gone for a while. |

Re: Craigslist wrecked my truck!!
I knew you guys could relate.
Ah, that's a good question. It started out as a cheap truck to make landfill runs in, but I find myself spending time and money at an excelarating pace. Right now, I just want to get the new sheet metal on the front, fix some rust in the bed and then try to make it all one color again. |

Re: Craigslist wrecked my truck!!
Well, I couldn't help myself, had to take it for a drive and test those fans. Weather was nice so I left the hood off. I couldn't believe the reactions I got as I tooled around town. Most people looked at me like I was breaking some law, women were shooing children to safety and young guys were hollering to "light em' up!".
So if you want your truck to turn heads, dont spend 20k on a resto, just run with the hood off. |

Re: Craigslist wrecked my truck!!
I just bought my 71 4x4 and made my wife promise to not let me remove anything that can't be replaced in a weekend. My 70 Nova was running and driving with fresh paint and interior when I put it away on Thanksgiving last year. It's now stripped from the firewall forward all because I needed to change the heater box, and install disc brakes!!! Now the heads have been gone through, new disc, fresh paint and all that jazz, MSD Ignition, and a new intake!
It always snowballs, If it didn't we would all be taking our trucks apart all the time for each little upgrade! Last edited by 1quik70; 04-13-2010 at 10:56 PM. |

Re: Craigslist wrecked my truck!!
I do, its the flex-a-lite 298, 4600 cfm. The guy bought it from Summit:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FLX-298/ With this controller: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FLX-31165/ This thing fits like it was made for my stock three core radiator. The universal brackets made the install clean and easy. The controller was an easy install as well. It feels well built and after riding around town for about an hour it had no trouble keeping me cool. Hope this helps. |

Re: Craigslist wrecked my truck!!
60 amp right now. With the fans drawing 28 amps I may have to upgrade the alt. I did try it with the lights and blower on, when the fans kicked on there was no noticable dimming of the lights, but time will tell. The controller soft starts the fans at 60% so that may be saving me.
