71-72 Gas Pedal Install Instructions

I bought one of the adapters that LFD started making and now '70_402 is making and selling. I'm getting ready to do the install and I can't find any instructions for it. Once upon a time, I read a great post by someone on the forum who laid out the dimensions to make your own adapter and installed the whole setup with pictures. The only defining thing I can remember is that he actually bent the upper part of the rod to get the holes to line up. I think I found it through one of those posts where somebody (might have been LockDoc) collected a bunch of upgrades and posted the links, but I cannot find it for the life of me. I've been looking for 45 minutes and I'm throwing in the towel.

YES... I used the search function. Just looking for a little help. Maybe somebody bookmarked that tutorial or has something they can share.

Thanks!

Good deal. I wouldn't go as far as to say that though. I was looking for one of my own threads the other day and couldn't find it...

Re: 71-72 Gas Pedal Install Instructions

I’m doing it because my throttle rod is bent and I’d rather have something a little more reliable.

I may get this a little wrong, but the theory goes that GM changed it in 71 because if you lost a motor mount it could make the throttle rod go fully open. Or something like that.

Either way, I’m doing it because I’m also tired of the stupid ball studs in the floor. With a floor mat installed, my pedal won’t stay mounted.

Thumbs up Re: 71-72 Gas Pedal Install Instructions

I put the Lokar gas pedal assembly in my 71 and brake pad & E brake cover on the other pedals. I then put the 71 pedal assembly in the 68.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
