Re: 1959 Impala dash in 67-72 trucks
Am i missing the boat here not sure why you want to make the interior look older. I drove a 57 Chevy in high school and yes i loved the interior. but the roundness of the interior fit that of the body. i don't see any resemblance between the 59 and 67. i no, i no to each there own. thats why they call it custom..

Re: 1959 Impala dash in 67-72 trucks
don't talk so bad about yourself a little triming and welding in some mounting tabs which dont need to be pretty if there behind the dash, lay your old metal dash top on the new dash cut to fit the shape of the cab and correct depth and wala, any of you guys that can screw one of these trucks together are more than capable you just need to try it start with easy stuff and move up. Youll never get it until you try and beleive me the first time u try it its probably not gunna work out but at least try, all fabricators had to start somewhere. Talk to people that have done similar mods and learn from there mistakes, unless there stuck up and supposidly never made any mistakes, but all of you who have done these types of mods before I gurrentee have messed it up before.

Re: 1959 Impala dash in 67-72 trucks
seems like you could cut the cluster out of the doner dash and fab it into the stock dash with a little less fighting to make a completely foreign dash fit

Re: 1959 Impala dash in 67-72 trucks
endless options, you can shave bent peices of exhaust pipe into your dash to mount gauges and have a similar look to, and then its definatly one off to your truck.

... it's still better than adding a late model step bed

I think it looks pretty cool. On that yellow one he could have really put it over the top by grafting a nice smooth flowing console into it instead of butting a squarish one up against it.
