Found Out My Truck Was In A Movie

Through some digging online I was able to contact the family of the original owner of my 72' C20 Cheyenne. Unfortunately, the original owner passed away but I was able to speak with his grandson who knew all about the truck. The original owner worked for a big name studio in LA and did stunt work and mechanical work on many films. He was able to get the truck in a scene in the movie Corvette Summer with Mark Hamill (better known for his work as Luke Skywalker). Here are some shots of the truck in the movie. Not everyone can say that their 72 Cheyenne pulled Luke Skywalker on a bicycle.

That's so cool. You know you have to restore it now rightLook at that truck new.

I suspect it wore those turbines in the movie. Best looking wheel on a LWB, IMO. My 72 C20 has them as well, 9.75" at the rear, 8.25" in front. Yours look like 9.75" on all four??? you price those tires? When the rubber falls off the rear I'm swapping the 9.75" for 8.25".

I've seen some Chevy's in shows of late. There's a 72 Cheyenne, I think a Super in Shameless. It Chases women, specifically Fiona and she's There's a 71-72 Cheyenne in True Detective, and it chases Indians.

Yes sir, 9.75”s on all fours and 16.5” in diameter. I did price the super traxions and they’re around $330ish a piece. After finding that out I put the turbines in storage and threw a set of 16" American racing aluminum wheels on the truck. Gotta love Fiona

I just saw that truck this week on the show. Started watching it about a month ago, and am almost caught up.

After all these years I found out the grandson lives a few miles away from me. Definitely going to meet him and let him take his grandfather truck for a spin. Gotta love old Chevys.

Thank you. I was wondering why they switched it over to right hand drive as well.

I wasn't planning on selling it, but it does deserve to be with the original family if they wanted it back. After I make some memories with it I would definitely be willing to let it go back to its real home. The grandson helped his grandpa put the 454 in it when he was 10 years old. Amazing story

Wow, that is so cool. Takes some big ones to willing to do that. I don't think I could let mine go and it has no story.

Believe me, it will be a hard decision to make. The truck is pretty clean, highly optioned, and not all hacked up. I’ll never find another one with as good of a story.

Re: Found Out My Truck Was In A Movie

This is too funny, was browsing thru Craigslist just now and came across a replica Corvette Summer car for sale. The only difference is it is left hand drive not right hand drive. Its in Riverside CA and they want 44K for it.

Was a good cheesy car movie but that vette was so ugly I would have taken Annie Potts van instead lol. The guys that stole did Hamil a favour

I was hoping you weren't going to say it was in "Groundhog Day"!
