T350 Floor Shifter for a 65' C10?

The guy that ripped my truck off tore up the steering column and it’s going to be too much of a hassle trying to get the original linkage working. I was wondering if anyone’s got any experience in installing a floor shifter for a three-speed-automatic?

This is the one I’m considering:

Part Number: HUU-3838520 / Hurst V-Matic 2 Shifter

Hurst 3838520: $215.95

Any knowledge will be greatly appreciated.

This one is built for trucks and should be a little higher profile.

My understanding is that you trim the bottom to fit the contour of your floor board.

I may have to go this route soon.

The kid that had my last truck b4 me cut a hole and put in a make shift set up. I had to place a patch in the floor and recut for a Genie floor shift kit featuring Swan shifter & REAL 8 Ball handle.. Worked out just fine. Here are a couple of pics.

Good Luck!

I'll be darned - had nearly the identicle set-up in my 66' GMC pick-up! It was already in the truck when I got her and never had a lick of trouble for three years. Do they still sell that assembly?

Yup they sure do. Genie's been around much longer than Lokar. Real Hot Rod stuff.

Item: 23" Gennie Ultra Swan TH-350 (1002G2)
Price: $249.95 / Part #: S1002G2

Got to admit - that’s a nice looking shifter. The shorter one’s okay too - but I’m concerned about clearing the bench seat. The price isn’t too bad either.

Good catch, 64c20crewcab!

That was the only draw back. However if ya know somebody in metal fab business. you can use the Genie mount and form a shifter to clear.

I had a slight issue with the bench seat. I had planned to have my seat redone with a notch cut out of the center front of the seat pad just so i'd have the proper clearance. Hoverver you can als use the 28" Genie lever too.
