Kickdown Switch
Anyone have trouble with your kickdown switch (w/TH400). Mine fell apart yesterday - the electrical connector and I will have to figure out which + and - lead goes where. Just use continuity testor I guess. It has 4 places to hook the leads up in a square pattern. + looks like it connects to passenger rear, but the negative lead fell out of the fractured connector. Also, the switch is very gummed up - anyone recommend best way to recondition it. I don't think it has been free to move for awhile.

I don't believe that there are that many TH 400's with the carb mounted kick down switch. My guess is that most guys would replace them or go without the function.
Replacements are available for the switch. Jim

The kick down switch does not have a + and a -, it is just power in and out.

Do a search on here or google for th400 Lokar kickdown. I have their switch as well as a few other members here and it is well worth it! Don't go without the function. It's a pleasure to drive with the proper kickdown.

Fixed it - FYI the rear 2 post are the normally open circuit - completes circuit at WOW for trans downshift - the cool part is the front 2 posts (unused on my factory setup) which are normally closed circuit UNTIL WOW, then becomes open (posts are marked for relay and sw)
