Question Stainless brake hose

Has anybody used these? If so what do u think of them. I want some new hoses on the 71 and thought they looked nice for the money.

STAINLESS BRAKE HOSE SET Chevrolet Truck C10, 1/2 Ton, 1971

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Stainless brake hose

I'd pick "works good" over "looks good" any day but I have had a set of Russell steel braided on the front of my 4x4 for about ten years now and they work good.

Well first off I never picked one over the other.

I assume since they are DOT approved they will perform as any other brake hose.

Mine do. Different brand but working good. I would buy some again. In fact I need some for my new project. About how much are these?

Question Re: Stainless brake hose

The E-bay add is $99.00 + $7.30 shipping for the set.
Inline tube for 71 is $105.00 plus $5.00 shipping
Not a lot of differance in price wonder how much differance in material there is.

Re: Stainless brake hose

I have had good success with inline and bought some cables from them. For the extra few bucks I think it would be good insurance. I would have bought mine from them if they weren't staring at me at the speed shop.

Re: Stainless brake hose

I have Goodridge Stainless brake hoses on my '03 Sonoma after I burst the stock rubber ones. you'll notice that brakes are firmer, a lot firmer, and it makes you realize how much rubber hoses bloat. Take a little getting used to, there is not as lot of spring in the pedal from when the brakes start to engage until they really grab...and you probably don't have shoulder belts.

Re: Stainless brake hose

Those are cool, the one thing I didn't like about the Goodridge hoses is that they are an uncoated/uncovered stainless braid. I'll have to look up the ones you got for my next project, they look really nice.

They look real good in person. I'll try and get some good close ups when I can. Yea I also liked the covers on them. That's what sold me on them.
