Carrier Bearing/Drive shaft support bearing

Where's the best place to find one?

I went to Auto Zone, a good friend works there and we went through a ton of parts not finding one for my '68 3/4 ton...

Seems mine doesn't have any rubber left.

Re: Carrier Bearing/Drive shaft support bearing

I went with one from NAPA on my 68 C20. It wasn't the same though. I had to make a spacer from Square tubing to bolt between the frame mount and the carrier. I was hoping just to find the bearing in the rubber donut that goes in the 2 piece clamshell, but no luck.

Is Buckeye near Tonapah. I was just there this past fall for outage at Palo Verde, seem to recall that name. Didn't see as many old trucks as I was expecting. Had my saddle and white roof 68 C20 there.

Yessir!
I actually have a buddy that rents a RV hook up here and does the outages.

You'll see a lot around me house, just cruise around and look in the back yards.

So O'reilly is the place to go then? Because I have like the big "i" one, with the bolts goin front to rear.

I work for Oreilly's and we have those. Both the inline (front to back)support and the wider (side to side) bolt pattern 3/4 ton model

Re: Carrier Bearing/Drive shaft support bearing

I have a 71 3/4 ton and I got a carrier bearing from Autozone a couple of months ago. They didn't have one specifically but they do carry multiple sizes. Go on the Autozone website, enter your vehicle information, and do a search for carrier bearing.

go to a driveshaft shop. Not only can they hook you up, it'll be much higher quality that parts store junk, and they know how to install it properly
