Spielberg blew it up

You know that sweet 64-66 shortbed you have been wanting well, Steven Spielberg drove it into a train! Well at the very least he CGIed it into a train. I just saw the trailer for Spielberg's new movie Super 8. Looks very cool but so does that sweet shortbed being totaled. Couldn't tell which year but ( no badges, but it was not a knee nocker ) I hate to see anything bad happen to these American icons. Has anyone else seen this.

Does anyone have his Email address? Perhaps a Poll to see if anyone else thinks this is not right! LOL

Re: Spielberg blew it up

Let’s not forget the poor 61 step side in Men In Black. Spielberg was executive producer. And Clint Eastwood burned up a GMC step side in one of the ape movies. Either they love these trucks and want to give them some screen time, or it must be a Hollywood conspiracy to eliminate the surplus population of our trucks!

When I told my kids (12 and 17 yr girls) about my truck they asked if was like Bella's truck. I said sort of and they said fine but don't paint it red.

Re: Spielberg blew it up

i'm mad as hell and can't take it anymore! should we start a new PETA organization (Pickup Enthusiast Truck Advocates)? I think we should push for a "no C10s were hurt in the filming of this movie" caption at the bottom of such hollywood nonsense. The nerve....

Ha, just kidding of course. I'd much rather see a chev in a movie than a f#$% anyday, but I do hate seeing them crushed by trains, driven off cliffs, beaten by For#$, etc. I thijnk this one was CGI though... didn't look like a real crash to me.

Guys looks like Super 8 was done with CGI "Computer Generated Imagery". Look at the trailer and pause it at the crash. Looks fake to me.

Unlike back in the day with movies like Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry... this clip will make you cry... check out the C10 at 1:30 and all the other classics too!

Re: Spielberg blew it up

ok, call me a movie geek - but isn't that clip from "the Seven-Ups"? (HUGE Dirty Mary Crazy Larry fan btw, have it on dvd). Btw - Crazy Larry's "first" getaway car in the early part of the movie was a 66 chebby! No wonder I liked that movie so much... But that Charger didn't suck either.... And it REALLY was destroyed at the end. Sad.

EDIT! No wait, I clicked on one of the links embedded in the Dirty Mary Crazy Larry youtube thingy - it was labeled Dirty Mary Crazy Larry, but wasn't. But the rest were - so I just clicked on the wrong link. I was watching Roy Scheider run crazy in his Omega before he rear ended the semi truck... My bad.
