55 Chevy (2nd) 1 Ton Dually Stake side
45 years ago my grandpa agreed to sell me his 55 1/2 ton step-side when I turned 16! I'll be, if he didn't sell it just before my 16th birthday! For years it was my dream to own a daily driver like his old work truck. Last year I began looking in earnest. Then my wife found this old 1 ton cab- chassis that had been a farm fuel delivery in St. Joseph, Mo. It was in running condition so I picked it up and hauled it back to east Texas and began, not a restoration, but a preservation! I'm restoring the interior and keeping the old patina on the exterior. Was able to stumble upon an original platform bed frame on which to base a stake side style. It is used for our basic farm work and makes the local cruise night every month as well as a few close by car shows for the fun of it.
